2GB iPod Nano First Generation Review

2GB iPod Nano First Generation Review by Daniel Dwase...

The 2GB iPod Nano is incredibly slim, compactable, polished stainless steel and designed in anodized aluminum.

iPod nanos are also cheap, sleek and look more attractive and they are the world's most popular music players and can be stunning all around with eye-catching colors.

iPods are produced in the sense to let us enjoy videos, podcasts, TV shows, music, games, and these come with the eye catching picture clarity with the protection to eyes at comparatively cheaper rate.

The 2GB unit really holds on average a maximum of 450 songs nearly 4 minutes each at 128 Kbps. That gives you around 30 hours of continuous music on the unit.

The functionality of the 2GB and 4GB Nanos are about the same... with the exception of fast menu switching and song selections in the 2GB rather than the 4GB iPod Nano.

The 2 GB iPod Nano has a very fixed integration with iTunes and the Click Wheel is as functional as ever. It's easy to hold and control with one hand. Scratches and fingerprints are noticed often with the white Nano than on the black Nano... particularly when viewed from a distance.

The iPod nano in general is a great successor to the iPod mini and takes away the worries about damaging the unit due to high impact workouts.

The 2 GB iPod Nano is considered to be a secondary MP3 player for those gym sessions where you want a respectable but not vast selection of music to choose from.

It can also act as a prompt USB hard drive, photo viewer, and has a few basic PDA functions like personal contacts storage and an alarm clock.

The Nano looks as if it is made up of three layers... the intense silver back, the white middle casing, and an obvious polycarbonate layer on top. The Click Wheel is the only mobile part on the Nano and the Hold switch is on the top of the unit.

The dock connector port and the headphone port are at the bottom of the unit. The Click Wheel looks appealing on the surface of the Nano giving the unit a very slick feel.

With the 2GB iPod Nano, only 1.7GB are available for your use although it has about 2GB of memory in the unit as 300MB is needed for the operating system and other essential software.

Battery life can last for up to 1 to 2 continuous years of use. The battery takes 3 hours to fully charge via a powered USB 2.0 port.

The Nano is a solid music player as the Music on the 2 GB iPod Nano sounds dazzling and 22 preset equalizer settings are available and functions for music playback are handy using the Nano's controls.

The easy to use Click Wheel makes navigation easy. This is the much loved way of navigating through a vast collection of songs and the grouping of songs by albums, composer, and artists is available.
