How To Add Song Lyrics To Your iPod Via iTunes
Add Song Lyrics To Your iPod -- A Step-By-Step-Guide... by Daniel Dwase
A coolest feature of the iPod nano and the 5th gen iPod model... the iPod video... is that it allows you to add lyrics to your songs via iTunes
so that you can sing along to your favorite songs on your iPod.
What You Need To Add Song Lyrics To Your iPod:
- 5th gen iPod / iPod nano
- Latest version of iTunes software
- Song lyrics
1. Download iTunes
Download and install the latest version of iTunes...
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download (opens new window)
2. Select Your Song
Open iTunes, select the song from your music library… this should be the song you wish to add the lyrics to.
I selected 'Just For A Day' by the Winans Brothers as the song to add my lyrics.
3. Open Dialog Box
Right-click on your selected song and select ‘Get Info’. An easier option is to go to ‘File > Get Info’...
this works the same as right-clicking your selected song. A dialog box opens up. Click the tab that says ‘Lyrics’. This brings up an empty
lyrics box where you add your lyrics.
4. Add Lyrics
Type in your lyrics or paste it in from another source like the internet. The easiest way I found my lyrics was to do a Google search on the
'Winans Phase 2', copied it and pasted it in the 'Lyrics dialog box.
You can also do a search for your lyrics to add as well.
Click 'OK'
5. Sync Lyrics To Your iPod
The last step to add song lyrics to your iPod is to... go to ‘File>Sync iPod’ to copy the song to your iPod.
To sing along to your lyrics, all you need to do is to play the song you added the lyrics to. When the song is playing, pressing the 'Centre'
button repeatedly on your iPod will take you to the lyrics option where you can view your lyrics and sing along to it :o)
