Testimonials...
OMG!!!!!! This website helped me so much! I just got my first iPod yesterday and this helped alot.
SallyAnne, USA

You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was on it when it crashed. I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they do not make the black nanos anymore. I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the problem.
Thank you.

Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
Thanks again.

Apple iPod Video 5th Generation Review

Apple iPod Video 5th Generation Review By Daniel Dwase...

Pros Apple iPod Video....
  • Has original click wheel and a big screen for viewing photos and watching movies
  • Video playtime is 75 hours (30GB) or 100 hours (80GB)
  • The looks and the sound quality are second to none with high st
  • orage capacity
  • It's sleek, easy and fun to use
  • 30% thinner than original model
  • Small enough to fit into your pocket
  • Very easy to use
  • Ran videos at roughly 30 frames per second, the same as a broadcast TV signal
Cons
  • Battery lasts between 3-4 hours which in my opinion is reasonable unless you want to watch movies all day long
  • Tricky to download/put videos on
  • Scratches easily but with an iPod case can solve problem with scratching
Manufacturer Apple Inc.

Price 30GB $349, 80GB $499
Rating

Apple iPod video is the original, and the largest member of the iPod family, at 2.4 x 4.1 x .43 inches. It weighs between 4.8 and 5.5 ounces, depending on whether it holds 30 or 80 gigabytes (GB).

Complete with a full color 2.5 inch screen, this deluxe model plays movies, TV programs, and music videos, all of which can be downloaded from the iTunes store.

The 80GB Apple iPod video holds up to 20,000 songs, 25,000 photos, or over 100 hours of video... and... the 30GB Apple iPod video holds up to 7,500 songs, 25,000 photos, or over 75 hours of video.

It comes in black or white. It is also available in a special U2 Edition. Apple iPod video allows you to put your entire music collection into your pocket. Although I wanted an 80GB Apple iPod video... I opted for the modest 30GB model in white because of budget constraint.

The sharp and bright screen has a resolution of 320 — 240 pixels which makes it fun when you watch videos on it. Videos appear as a new item on the top menu and are divided by category including movies, video podcasts, and video playlists. With its brighter display and vibrant color your videos, photos and games comes to life.

The navigation is the best in all MP3 players and audio quality remains the best. It uses a touch sensitive click-wheel that you use to navigate through its menu. Video looks remarkably comfortable on it. Brighter shots look very clear and crisp, though, as with most devices that play back compressed video, you can often see compression artefacts like banding in dark areas.

It supports downloading music from iTunes 7 or later, as well as video encoded as H.264 or MPEG-4. The battery life is reasonable when playing back audios and videos. You can enjoy up to 20 hours of audio playback or up to 6½ hours of video playback in-between charges.

You wouldn't want to watch subtitled content or sports on it because the wide camera will make players small.

One thing I like about my iPod is it remembers where I stopped watching a video, so any time I go back to it, I can simply resume from where I left off.

You can also brush through video, though not in real time; you scroll through a progress bar, and the video jumps to the point where you stop scrolling.

What's included

The unit comes in a sleek black box that includes earbud headphones, two sets of foam earbud covers, a USB 2.0 cable, a plastic dock adapter, a black felt case, a QuickStart guide, and of course the iPod video.

Requirements

Mac| PC

Verdict

If you are looking for a player for audio use mostly and occasionally for video viewing as well, then this is a fantastic choice.

Apple iPod Video is the winner of all the iPod brands. It has a range of advanced features, high quality images and videos. Great for anyone who wants to enjoy entertainment on the move in style. I have absolutely no problem recommending the iPod Video (30 GB or 80 GB) versions.
