Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab Click on ‘Burning’ Set ‘Preferred Speed’ to ‘Maximum’ Choose your ‘Disc Format’ … Audio CD, MP3 CD or Data CD.
Then, create a playlist of songs you want backed up. You can also choose to backup purchased songs only. To do this click on the ‘Purchased Music’ playlist or the smart playlist.
Click ‘Burn’ to burn your songs to a CD or DVD. If you have more songs that will not fit on a single CD or DVD, iTunes displays a message letting you know just that. Verify that you have a few blank discs available, then click on the ‘Data Discs’ button.
Another way of backing up your songs is to drag them to another hard disk. External hard disks are inexpensive and will make a great media backup for your songs and pictures stored in your iTunes library. To do this, go to your ‘Home’ directory, locate and double-click on your ‘Music’ folder. Locate the folder named ‘iTunes’ and just drag it to the other hard disk. This will back up all of your playlists.
