This is the most basic piece, with just audio capability.
You have the 1 GB and the 2 GB versions here, and they can store 120 and 240 songs respectively.
Don't expect this basic iPod to do anything else.
They are available in silver, turquoise, blue, purple and red. Understandably, the prices are quite low.
The 1 GB version is priced at $49 and the 2 GB version is priced at $69.
iPod Nano Third Generation

This is quite a rage nowadays, especially in the teen crowd.
It is a little more than a basic piece, and it has some bit of video capacity too.
There are two versions again, the 4 GB and the 8 GB versions.
The 4 GB version is good for 1,000 songs, 3,500 photos or 4 hours of video, or a little bit of each.
The 8 GB version has double of all these capacities.
Since you will hardly go beyond this capacity with the songs and the photos, it is a good buy.
However, the video capacity is a disappointment.
At $149 and $199 for the two versions, perhaps, you might want to give the iPod Classic a closer look.
iPod Nano Fourth Generation

Apple's iPod nano fourth generation has the best of the nano old and new.
The new design is much like the older, more popular tall-and-slim design with the newer, larger screen from the third-generation nano.
At $149 (8GB), and $199 (16GB), it is impressively priced given its additions, including a built-in accelerometer which flips the screen orientation, on-the-go Genius playlists, and "shake to shuffle" feature.
It's one of the best looking flash players ever created by Apple, and like any great gadget, it's fun to use, despite its sophisticated user interface.
iPod Classic

The iPod classic is available in two versions, the 80 GB and 160 GB versions, and has astounding capacities of storage.
The 80 GB can store 20,000 songs, 25,000 photos or 100 hours of video.
That's truly amazing, and the 160 GB has double of all these capacities.
Compared to the Nano, the price of the Classic is not quite high at all.
The two versions, 80 GB and 160 GB are priced at $249 and $349 respectively.
If you are looking for a higher capacity iPod to store all your important files, then this is the iPod for you.
iPod Touch

This is certainly my choice for the best buy iPod.
This is the touch screen iPod with a big screen often called the "Funniest iPod Ever".
The touch screen interface on the iPod touch is so amazingly powerful because of pioneering software Apple has used. With a Wi-Fi wireless access, you'll benefit from browsing the net wherever you are.
It is available in three versions, 8 GB ($299), 16 GB and 32 GB and the 8 GB is good for 1,750 songs, or 10,000 photos or 10 hours of video.
The others have proportionate capacities. At $399.99 (16 GB) and $499.99 (32 GB).
Another amazing feature of the iPod Touch is the YouTube application which allows you to watch more than 10 million videos free. Videos from the Web's top video websites are at your disposal for you to enjoy on this best buy iPod.
Trust me, this is your best buy for an iPod.

OMG!!!!!! This website helped me so much! I just got my first iPod yesterday and this helped alot.

You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was
on it when it crashed.
I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they
do not make the black nanos anymore.
I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the
problem.
Thank you.

Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And
thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in
summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not
unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent
quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
Thanks again.
Ciao
