How can I remove the padlock next to the battery sign
Question: How can I remove the padlock next to the battery sign - there is a padlock sign next to the battery on the iPod and it can't seem to unlock even though I have restored it. Answer: Padlock symbol is shown when iPod is in locked mode. Plug your iPod into Mac or PC. Then, open the iPod software update application -- there's a "Reset" button there, try reseting it from there. In case you are still unable to get the same unlocked then try updating the software on it by downloading iTunes. If still nothing helps then take the iPod into an Apple store, if it is under warranty and even they can't resolve it then they might replace it with a refurbished model. (Please note the replacement is only at Apple's discretion). Hope this helps. Daniel Dwase.

Testimonials...
You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was
on it when it crashed.
I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they
do not make the black nanos anymore.
I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the
problem.
Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And
thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in
summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not
unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent
quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
