Download and install latest version of iTunes

1. Download and install iTunes 7 or later http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

2. Connect to a different USB port on your computer if nothing happens. Remember to use a USB 2.0 port to connect your iPod because USB 1.1 is slower than USB 2.0 . You can purchase a USB 2.0 card for Windows PC that doesn’t have a USB 2.0 port. For more information, go to.

3. Charge the battery by connecting your iPod to a high-power USB 2.0 or FireWire port on your computer. Do not connect your iPod to the USB port on your keyboard as this will not charge the battery.

4. Reset your iPod by holding the ‘Menu’ and ‘Select’ button for six seconds until the Apple logo appears if the above doesn’t work.

5. Restart your computer if resetting your iPod does not work.

6. And finally, restore iPod using iTunes 7 or later if all of the above does not work.
