iPod is locked up
Question: iPod is locked up and don't have a combination # for it..never programmed one for it. Answer: If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device on the computer that was used to originally sync the iPod so that you can reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced to the iPod, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode but your data will not be present. Refer to "Updating and restoring iPhone and iPod touch software" http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 According to Apple, if you have forgotten the code, you can unlock the iPod by doing the following: Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs... you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back on your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize. Hope this helps. Daniel Dwase. Click here to read or post comments.

Testimonials...
You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was
on it when it crashed.
I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they
do not make the black nanos anymore.
I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the
problem.
Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And
thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in
summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not
unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent
quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
