JBL On Tour

jbl on tour ipod speaker - black

JBL On Tour is smaller and portable. It connects to your iPod via a standard 1/8in mini-plug cable which means that you can use it with any iPod, from the shuffle to the video. The most unique feature of the On Tour is the sliding cover. When closed, it protects the speakers and controls.

To use the iPod JBL speaker On Tour, you simply slide the cover out of the way and it remains attached and acts as a stand, angling the speakers slightly towards you. To turn it off, you press both the up/down buttons at the same time. By simply closing the case, the system also turns off or when an audio signal is no longer detected – handy for saving battery juice.

The iPod JBL speaker On Tour is a great travel system and it’s good value in the portable speaker market and if you fancy portability rather than bass, you’ll definitely want to consider it. JBL On Tour, is compatible with most iPods and iPod mini.

JBL On Time

The noticeable feature of this iPod JBL speaker system is the circular design. In the centre of the unit is an iPod dock that charges, sync and cradles your iPod. Also, there’s an output to connect a subwoofer, with a dramatically enhanced sound. It has an alarm clock that works well. The alarm has everyday, weekday and weekend settings, meaning you don’t need to reset the alarm or turn it off.

You can also set the snooze function for whatever interval you’d like and there’s a flexible sleep timer, although it abruptly cuts off, rather than growing gradually quieter. If your only desire is something like a small stereo, with the added benefit of a clock and alarm with superior sound, then the JBL On Time is definitely a good choice for you.

  • Syncs with iPod
