Use this search feature to quickly find the information you're looking for!

You use iTunes Smart Playlists to compile your music collections and this trick is handy if you need to populate songs on your iPod in a hurry.
Go to the File menu and select New Smart Playlist... this brings up the dialog box.

Define which tracks you want included in your New Smart Playlist. The easiest way is searching by artist's name.
I've entered Lionel Richie but you'll realise that there are different criteria in the drop-down menu list which to govern your search criteria.
Limit your search to 30 songs then explore the options by which they'll be selected... Highest Rating... should guarantee a good playlist.

Once you're finished, your Smart Playlist will appear in the iTunes Source panel, labelled with the artist name.
