Define which tracks you want included in your New Smart Playlist. The easiest way is searching by artist’s name.

I’ve entered ‘Lionel Richie’ but you’ll realise that there are different criteria in the drop-down menu list which to govern your search criteria.

Limit your search to 30 songs then explore the options by which they’ll be selected … ‘Highest Rating’…should guarantee a good playlist.

Once you’re finished, your ‘Smart Playlist' will appear in the iTunes ‘Source’ panel, labelled with the artist name.
