The new iPod nano features an improved user interface with fancy visuals such as Cover Flow. The display is split in half with the menu's items on the left side and a preview of the selected menu item's contents -- podcasts, music, artists, playlists -- shown on the other side. When you select a music or video-related category, it uses the album art of tracks, videos or photos in that category for this display.
Once you navigate down to the list of items, the split-screen view is replaced by a full-screen listing that makes it easier to read longer names.
It has a closed-captioning feature which means when you play a video that includes closed-captioning information, the text is displayed on the screen.
New iPod nano also has a 'Cover Flow' feature that's accessible via the 'Music' menu. Selecting it will allow you to cycle through album covers. When you find an album cover you want, clicking the centre button brings up tracks on that album; select a track to begin playing.
A new 'Now Playing' feature displays more information like artist, track, album, rating, and track number.
The new 2in screen uses the same 320 × 240-pixel resolution as that of the iPod classic -- very bright and sharp.
It can also play videos and supports the same games as the classic. It provides the same 24-hours of audio playback as its predecessor, or five hours of video. It can also output video and photos to a projector via a dock connector port.
The 4GB ($149) holds 1000 songs whilst the 8GB ($199) holds 2000 songs. It comes with three Games: Apple's Vortex, iQuiz, and a color Klondike solitaire game.
The new iPod nano is a bit wider than its predecessor and it's very stylish and lightweight. It's wider at 52mm and shorter by 70mm compared to its predecessor at 40mm by 89mm, but remains 6.6mm thick. It has a shiny chrome back instead of anodised metal all around it.

The nano looks better in appearance; screen is stunningly clear and makes it easy to read even small type face. It'll definitely make a good buy for someone looking to enjoy watching movies on a nano.
