You store your music in a centralised location and can be accessed from any of your home/office computers that run iTunes. Setting Up iTunes Sharing Feature iTunes sharing feature works only on a local network --in your home or office-- and not over the internet due to copyright issues. To do this, open iTunes and go to 'Edit > Preferences'
WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com
Click on the 'Sharing' icon and tick the boxes that say "Look for shared libraries" and "Share my library on my local network". A message will pop up reminding you that sharing music is for personal use only. You can share your entire library or selected playlists. Setup a password that users must enter to access your files if you wish but I recommend you do not. When you're done click 'OK' and you're ready to share.
Windows Firewall -- Allow Users On Your Network to Access Your Shared Playlist If other users on your local network can't connect to your music library after you've allowed sharing, you may need your operating system's built-in firewall to allow the traffic through. To do this, open the 'Sharing' preference pane -- System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall', and then select iTunes Music Sharing. If one of the computers on your network is a windows PC, follow Apple's instructions on how to allow Window's Internet Connection Firewall to share http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93396 (opens in new window)
