The Shure E2C is a great high fidelity earphone designed to deliver pristine clear sound across a wide gamut of musical genres from rock to jazz.
With its mild bass boost though, it is the earphone of choice for alternative, rock and pop music.

Originally designed for use by music professionals, the E2C displays a decisive edge over other canal phones in sensitivity, detailing and isolation.
It is now the entry-level earphone of the Shure E series, priced at $99.
Although many may find $99 a bit steep for a set of earphones, if you are an audiophile looking to rediscover your music, it's well worth the upgrade.
Besides, the E2C is at the lower end of the Shure E series price spectrum. Released in 2002, this product has been discontinued by Shure but is still available on various websites online.
You may find listening to your music on the E2C a little bass low, but this is probably due to the fact that most other earphones boost bass and treble to quite an extent.
In contrast, the sound on an E2C sounds natural and full of articulation, the way it is meant to be.
With its snug 'in-your-ear' fit, the E2C allows you to listen to every little nuance of a musical performance.
The added advantage is that you don't have to crank up the volume to drown outside noise as the sound is completely isolated.
Besides, unlike noise cancellation headphones, you don't need extra batteries. Despite this, using the E2C does not drain your iPod battery.
The E2C is available with flex and foam sleeves, ensuring you get a perfect fit. The down side is that it takes some practice finding the right fit. Once done though, the level of sound isolation is simply brilliant.
In addition to the sleeves, the E2C comes with wax guards to prevent wax buildup in the earphone. The earphone cables are thicker and sturdier than other models in this range ensuring that they do not transmit sound when they inadvertently touch something.
The E2C's cables are designed to fit discreetly behind your ears, instead of hanging in front and getting in the way. An adjustment tube helps fit the cable snugly around the back of your head.
The E2C uses Dynamic MicroDriver speaker technology which in combination with the earplug sound isolation design helps deliver exceptionally rich, professional sound.
Weighing a mere ounce, the Shure E2C's lightweight design is portable and nifty. Combine this with the zippered carry case that is issued with it, and it becomes easy to carry around for every on-the-go audiophile.
If you are looking for studio-quality sound and superior design at an affordable price, the Shure E2C is definitely the earphone of choice.

You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was
on it when it crashed.
I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they
do not make the black nanos anymore.
I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the
problem.
Thank you.

Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And
thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in
summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not
unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent
quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
Thanks again.
Ciao
