...Download and install the latest version of the iTunes software... http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

After installation, open iTunes and connect your iPod to your computer.

Press and hold the 'Select' and 'Menu' buttons simultaneously for 6-10 seconds until the Apple
logo appears.

This will reset your iPod.
