Unknown error occured {-50}

Greetings, I am frantic, my IPOD is my life. This afternoon, I had to restart my computer because it was freezing up and, perhaps something was corrupted, but when I'm trying to sync my Nano (third Gen) I get a message that it can't be synced and unknown error occured {-50}. I tried looking things up in support, it said to save a .bat file and all, but it doesn't work. I even totaly deleted iTunes, then re-downloaded a new version for a clean install. Same problem. I should tell you that I can't sync my Library, but if I make a playlist, I get some of my files. I can't sync pictures as well.
Please help.

First of all you need to deauthorize and authorizse your computer using iTunes once...

To de-authorize your computer, open iTunes and under 'Store' on the file menu, select 'Deauthorize Computer'. Enter your account name and password. if you haven't got an account name and password you need to setup one by going to the iTunes Store Home Page and signing up there.


After authorizing your computer, connect your iPod to your computer, open iTunes and click on 'Users iPod' under 'Devices', and under the 'Summary' tab click 'Restore' to restore your iPod to factory settings.
