When uploading songs to your iPod using iTunes, you must first install the latest version of the iTunes software http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
There are three ways to upload your songs into your iTunes library.
You can...
1. Upload/import songs from your CD collection.2. Add songs that's already on your computer to your iTunes music library.
3. Buy songs from the iTunes Music Store.
1. Upload/import songs from your CD collection
Open iTunes and insert your CD into your computer. iTunes will recognize your inserted CD and the title will appear with a small CD icon next to it in the Source menu.
Click on the CD's name to bring you up a list of all the songs on the CD.
Songs on the CD will be automatically checked so uncheck the boxes of songs you do not want imported into your iTunes library.
|
iTunes will automatically prompt you with a message Would like to import Audio CD into iTunes library. Click Yes .
If iTunes does not import the CD automatically, click the Import CD button at the bottom right hand corner of iTunes.
|
Checked songs will begin to be uploaded. This is indicated by an orange icon that appears to the left of the song being currently uploaded.
Uploaded songs will be automatically added to your iTunes library and the next time you connect your iPod to your computer, the songs will be synced/loaded onto it.
Note: The time it will take to upload your songs into your iTunes Music library will depend on the number of of tracks and the length of individual tracks on your CD. Usually, when I upload my CD containing 15 tracks of about 6 minutes per track... it takes about 10-15 minutes to upload into my iTunes Music library.
|
2. Add songs that's already on your computer to your iTunes music library
Songs in MP3 or AAC file formats that are stored on your computer can be easily added to your iTunes library.
Go to File > Import and select the folder or disk you want imported songs from.
|
iTunes will prompt you with this message One or more songs you are adding to iTunes are in the WMA format. iTunes will automatically convert them to the AAC format so that they can be added to your iTunes library.
Click Convert to convert the songs to the AAC format.
|
Another way around uploading songs to your iPod using iTunes is to burn the songs onto a CD and use iTunes to rip them back into YOUR iTunes library.
This will convert your songs from WMA file extension to AAC file extension.
Songs that are supported by iTunes will be automatically added to your music library.
3. Buying songs from the iTunes Music Store
To purchase songs from the iTunes Music Store, you must set up an account and give your name, credit card and billing information and your e-mail address.
Follow the on-screen instructions to setup your account for purchasing songs to fill your iPod with your favourite songs.
|
After you purchase songs or videos, you keep them and you can play them on up to five computers using your one account.
You can also transfer your purchased songs to an unlimited number of iPod’s which makes it a plus point of owning an iPod video.
You are ready to enjoy your music when you finish uploading songs to your iPod using iTunes.

You are a genius, I thought I had downloaded iTunes 7... I didn't have to reset, everything came up as was
on it when it crashed.
I cannot thank you enough for not giving up, this one had sentimental value that you cannot believe and they
do not make the black nanos anymore.
I tried everything on the internet, and you are the only one that replied and kept at it until you solved the
problem.
Thank you.

Wow Daniel! What a fantastic service. I really didn't expect such a prompt response, if at all. And
thanks for your advice. I certainly will be downloading from the sites you have listed. We are bathing in
summer heat here, whilst I guess you are sheltering from the approaching winter. As a student it is not
unusual to work through the night and I must say, how fantastic it is to have music all night. And such excellent
quality sound too. So thrilled to have iPod up and running!
Thanks again.
Ciao
